A story that's hard to believe but easy to verify. Below is a detailed description of what this video is about. It was in 2023. For three years, I've been live-streaming a stork nest on YouTube. This year started as usual — in May, five chicks hatched. The youngest was very weak because he was born last and didn’t get enough food. Viewers named him “Piglet” (Pyatachok) and quickly became attached to him. By the end of May, the usual thing happened: adult storks often push the weakest chick out of the nest. On May 26, I saw the mother stork hitting the weakest one and trying to throw him out. She left him on the edge, but he kept crawling back. He was bruised, covered with ants, but still alive. We have this video. I saw it and couldn't contain my emotions. I went to save the chick. The video is quite sad. Don't watch it if you are not confident in your abilities. • How the stork couldn't throw out the chick... I couldn’t bear it — I grabbed a tall ladder and climbed a 9-meter birch tree. With great risk, I pulled the chick from the nest and placed him in my waist bag. I feared the adult storks would abandon the nest, but thankfully, they didn’t. That’s how my new life began — caring for a tiny stork chick. I’d never done it before, but with help from the internet and ornithologists, I fed him chicken offal and worms, kept him warm under an infrared lamp, and he started gaining weight. Viewers sent donations, and even the regional administration offered help. The chick turned out to be magical — attracting kindness from all sides. Three days later, I had to travel to St. Petersburg for a medical consultation — I had a high PSA level and needed a biopsy. The chick stayed with a friend who had experience with birds. When I returned, I moved to my country house and devoted myself fully to caring for him. Every 3 hours I fed him, monitored the temperature — at 66, I became a “young father” again. Then came the diagnosis: prostate cancer. I panicked for a week, then researched everything, consulted urologists, and learned I needed robotic surgery (Da Vinci system) — an expensive procedure I couldn’t afford. Meanwhile, Pyatachok grew and became the hero of our channel. We did live streams with him, and people donated. I decided to run a stream to talk about my illness. Donations started pouring in — 100,000 rubles the next day. In five days, we raised the full amount. The surgery was successful — 9 days ago. I'm writing this from the clinic in Moscow, awaiting discharge. Pyatachok is now a grown stork, learning to fly, preparing for migration — and hopefully, waiting for me. I saved a stork chick — and he saved me. ❤ Thank you for supporting the channel https://ko-fi.com/storks40
