Join me for just a walk in the park in the Philippines. If you have been watching my videos, I don't normally walk around parks, but honestly, I was in Baguio for a quick break and decided to film my surroundings. This is a late upload, but still a good impression of what Burnham Park in Baguio City Philippines looks like, minus the lake in the middle which was under construction. Baguio City is considered the "Summer Capital of the Philippines". A large segment of the Filipino population, particularly the middle class and working professionals, can afford to vacation in Baguio, but for many others, especially those in poverty or struggling financially, it remains a significant expense, highlighting a gap in universal affordability despite its popularity. Everyone can vacation here, but not all filipinos are comfortable financially and still have to watch their wallets. As you can see on this video, which was filmed a little after Christmas, there were a lot of filipinos on holiday. The only way you can tell if a filipino is somewhat wealthy is not by walking around the park, but by walking around the fancy restaurants and see who can afford to, instead of eating at the typical fast food chains or street food outlets. Burnham Park is a place for all, rich or poor, this is one place the filipinos can come and play without feeling poor. It is a happy place for all, and this is why I decided to film here.
