Kiruna Wagon’s Side Loader XL is an innovative freight wagon with fully opening sides for unrestricted and super-efficient loading and unloading by forklift or wheel loader. Operated safely by a remote control, the entire 20-metre-long side opens vertically into a revolutionary large loading door, without supporting columns or sliding doors. In predecessors to this wagon, columns or sliding doors were common solutions. Our mission was to remove any elements that limit accessibility and run the risk of being damaged in the loading and unloading process. The solution is the Side Loader XL – named for its revolutionary large load opening. High-strength steel and a lightweight truss construction, with a cover of highly flexible and durable tarpaulin, enables the full length of the wagon to be opened for swift and carefree access to the 51-square-metre loading area. This version of the Side Loader XL has a load weight of approximately 51 tonnes. Most EU countries limit the permitted total size of lorries to 40 tonnes and 18.75 metres in length, which in practice allows for 33 sqm loading area and 24 tonnes of cargo.
