Dr. Stephen Hoff sees patients at our Main Hospital, in New Lenox and in Westchester. He is a pediatric ear, nose and throat (ENT) doctor, with expertise in treating children with ear and hearing issues. As a pediatric otolaryngologist, he specializes in performing surgery of the ear, including cochlear implantation, to restore hearing for children and help them reach their maximum potential. He treats children with complex ear problems, such as cholesteatoma, congenital and acquired hearing loss, microtia and ear malformations, eardrum perforations and recurrent ear infections. Dr. Hoff is a recognized leader in minimally invasive endoscopic ear surgery, which can provide excellent surgical outcomes for common and complex ear conditions, often with less incisions and an improved recovery. He is also the co-director for the Lurie Children’s Microtia Program and works with a comprehensive team to improve hearing and cosmetic outcomes for children born with malformed ears, including osseointegrated implants and other devices. As one of the two surgeons on the Lurie Children’s cochlear implant program, he treats infants, children and teenagers with sensorineural hearing loss, and truly enjoys taking an individualized approach for every family and their child. He has received multiple teaching awards from Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. He has active research projects related to endoscopic ear surgery, cochlear implantation and 3D printing of biologic materials for pediatric ear reconstruction and otologic surgery. He has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international forums and courses related to pediatric ear surgery, and has published widely in the field, including scientific articles and textbook chapters. Dr. Hoff is an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at Northwestern University and a Pediatric Otolaryngologist at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He completed a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at Stanford University, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
