Education is not just about books or exams; high school is a time for students to find new passions and explore different sectors. Joel Mulyadi, co-founder of KOMIB, believes that high school students should volunteer and help others to test their powers. He believes problems are a pain, a waste of time, and unnecessary effort. Instead, students should adapt to life's redirections and maximize their possibilities. KOMIB was created to address the need for more structural voluntary work for high school students, focusing on first-respondents mentality, inclusivity, care of change, and sustainable innovation. KOMIB's ideology is based on four pillars: first-respondents mentality, inclusivity, respect for change, and sustainable innovation. As a student pioneer, students have the advantage of free time, which adults often overlook. By embracing these values, high school students can find new passions and make the most of their time. Joel Mulyadi founded KOMIB, a platform for young pioneers to improve their communities. As one of the youth activists who has created a platform to empower the youth in Indonesia, Joel will share his idea and perspective about the importance of the youth to contribute in solving community issues and how they can develop their civic engagement skills. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
