Beautiful 200 year old Abandoned Travelers Rest in the Mountains of Tennessee

This historic old house began as a log cabin built by a family of settlers in the late 1700’s. I show a glimpse of the logs under the wooden siding at the end. As the family grew and the road west over the Appalachian Mountains became more traversed the house was expanded into a travelers rest stop In the early 1800’s. For weary travelers too spend a night and feed their horses before heading westward into Kentucky or even further out to California during manifest destiny. Eventually the house was switched over permanently into a private residence in the early 1900’s as the popularity of resorts and hotels began growing. The house has been vacant since the 1970’s but the land is still used as a dairy farm. Thanks for watching
