From our Discord we were able to set up a close air support mission and work with a JTAC call sign Slayer. This crudely edited video (Im not the best at davinci resolve) shows the beginning of the TYPE 3 control and its execution. Supporting the JTAC is a flight of 2 A10s below 14K feet holding at Charlie 4 (South 4 NMs). To the North a pair of F16s have just finished executing their 9 line and are holding about 16K and above. The Type 3 control allows the JTAC to orchestrate numerous attacks while giving only 1 blanket clearance for all attacks. Instead of a CLEARED HOT, a CLEARED TO ENGAGE is given. Hawg lead calls “Commencing engagement” prior to first strike and “engagement complete” once the requested effects have been completed. Please note as I share the TACVIEW we are attacking a road along its axis. A cardinal rule of Close air support is to never over fly the friendly position. Today we are breaking this rule. We will fly over the JTAC however they are nearly 2 miles WEST of the target. The gun can be considered a direct fire weapon and its effects will flow EAST, away from the JTAC position.
