I Sure Hope This Injured Fawn Survives | Colorado Wildlife | Wildlife Wednesday

Usually, this time of year is really exciting as the fawns begin to appear in the field. Today was my first sighting, and unfortunately, this little fawn has an issue with one of its back legs. The little thing was trying to keep up with its mother, but it was struggling. It was particularly hard in the taller grass. We'll have to see what happens as time goes on, but there are predators in Colorado, and nature has a way of preying on the weak. There's really nothing I can do though, except hope that this little one survives somehow. Deer can survive with three legs, so we'll just have to see.
