Introduction. Our Philippines journey begins with a Manila stop. We rode a tricycle and explored the city, including the legendary traffic in Manila and tried some popular Philippines Street Food Exploring the Fusion: A Hungarian Myself Tried Popular Philippines Street Food in Manila Have you ever wondered what happens when the flavors of Hungary meet the vibrant street food scene of the Philippines? Join me on a culinary adventure as I, a Hungarian with a love for exploration, dived into the bustling streets of Manila to try some of the most popular local delights. Embracing the Unfamiliar As I wandered through the crowded streets, the alluring aroma of Filipino street food filled the air, drawing me in like a magnet. With a curious spirit and an empty stomach, I decided to embrace the unfamiliar and immerse myself in the culinary treasures of Manila. The Encounter: Trying Balut One of the most iconic Filipino street foods is Balut, a fertilized duck embryo boiled and eaten straight from the shell. Despite initial hesitation, I mustered up the courage to try this unique delicacy. The burst of flavors and textures was unlike anything I had ever experienced, leaving me both perplexed and intrigued. Unfortunately my camera acted up and something happened with the video and could not publish it. Well just lets say Balut is not my favourite Philippines street food, but I understand why so many people loves it. It is definitely very unic. Delving into the Flavorful Chaos: Inihaw na Baboy Next on my list was Inihaw na Baboy, a popular grilled pork dish marinated in a blend of sweet and savory spices. The succulent meat, charred to perfection, delighted my taste buds and left me craving for more. The burstiness of flavors in each bite was truly a revelation. Finding Comfort in Chaos: Ginataang Halo-Halo To satisfy my sweet tooth, I indulged in Ginataang Halo-Halo, a comforting dessert made with a mix of sweet beans, fruits, and tapioca pearls in coconut milk, in liquefied grounded ice. The medley of textures and flavors in this ice creme like dessert, re freshener was a true symphony for the senses. Sitio Kanawan, Binaritan, Morong, Bataan, Philippines Suspended bridge Diwa Pilar The next step was a short visit to Bataan Province. We had a short stop at the Hanging bridge Diwa Pilar. The bridge is suspended over a river. There is a small damn also. Very nice clean area with a lot of things to see. Mount Samat National Shrine The shrine complex was built to honor and remember the Filipino and American soldiers who fought and lost their life during fight with the Japanese army. Mount Samat is a mountain in the town of Pilar, Bataan, Philippines. Top of the mountain is the National Shrine with very big cross and a museum. The shrine dedicated to the Filipino and American soliders, who last their life during World War II. It was the location of heavy resistance during the Battle of Bataan in 1942 between the Philippines supported by American army and the enemy, the Japanese army. I spent some time in the city of Balanga city, it is the capital city of the province of Bataan, Philippines. Conclusion My culinary journey through the streets of Manila was a delightful mix of perplexity and burstiness, a perfect fusion of Hungarian curiosity and Filipino flavors. All of Philippines food, each dish offered a unique experience that I will not soon forget. Whether you're a seasoned traveller or an adventurous food lover, exploring the street food scene in Philippines is an experience like no other. Then the beauty and the history of Bataan is something that I wont ever forget, and I am sure I will be back there.
