India Aim to Stay Unbeaten Ahead of Netherlands Clash, Says Sitanshu Kotak 17 February, 2026 [Reporter:] Coach, if we talk about the last two matches, how do you rate the performance of the batters, especially against spinners? And if you feel there are any other areas of improvement? [Sitanshu Kotak:] I think we adjusted the situation as we decided and played good aggressive cricket. We decided to adjust the situation and play good aggressive cricket. But I think it was smart enough also. Because the innings that Ishaan played and then Surya, Tilak and Shivam played. More or less according to our plan. It was very good. [Reporter:] We might be playing 3 matches on this ground. So how important is tomorrow's exam? [Sitanshu Kotak:] Every match is important for us. But I don't really think that we look that it's a game which is not important, because I think every game is important, your team want to be in the same momentum. So for us, whether it is, I don't think we think as it is less pressure game or more pressure game. We played last game with the same intent, I think we will play the next game with the same intent as well. [Reporter:] Tomorrow there is a prediction in the weather forecast that maybe there will be rain, what do you think about that? [Sitanshu Kotak:] Honestly, I have not checked the weather forecast, so I don't know. It's very difficult to comment, but one thing is there, if it rains also, The point table wise I don't think it will affect us. From start of this World Cup I think we have seen that in T20 matches any team can beat anybody. So that's why I said every game we approach it as an important game and they have some very good players as well. So we will just try and play good cricket and that's all we will try and do. [Reporter:] Obviously bowling teams are trying to challenge Abhishek as much as they can. Have there been conversations on how he can approach his tempo, any fine-tuning required in trying to be one step ahead of the bowling sides? [Sitanshu Kotak:] Obviously we plan, yes. But he wasn't well, so he didn't play. Last game he got out in first over. So one thing we definitely do, we unnecessarily don't over-analyse, because sometimes you only start making a lot of assumptions than the opposition are. So he is someone who has got his plan sorted and he follows the way he wants to and obviously we discuss about the opposition, their bowling, their bowling strength, whatever they've been doing in the last few games they've played.
