/ farnooshstc / @stoicerstick Ethnoguessr Transcript: Quick disclaimer: This video is intended to celebrate the racial diversity of different ethnic groups and peoples and should not be misconstrued as hatful or prejudiced. Okay, disclaimer out of the way let's get into ranked rcsm, hehe I already know the thumbnail for this video is going to be diabolical. Ever played geoguesser and thought Hmmm, I wish I could geolocate where different ethnic groups originate/inhabit. Well…. First of all what a strange thought, and secondly now you can with this new ethnoguesser game which we’ll be playing. I've been playing this game religiously basically every day kind of like a wordle except, less sht. The website gives you a male and female face that is the collage of thousands of faces of an ethnicity and asks you to try and guess where in the world that ethnicity originates from. Different ethnicities as you know often have distinct features that can be used to identify them, these can be standardised such as the cephalic index, which compares the length of the face to the breadth of the face and is a very popular metric and is especially useful in identifying hyperbrachycephalic faces, such as those seen in central asia. We are going to do the daily 10 ethnicity game and then a quickfire of all 38 afterwards. So ,let's begin with the first pair of faces. Yeah, this is easily Central Asia, you can tell because the head is very brachycephalic, infact lets analyse all of these in the Stoic Stick Ethnicity Classification Station, light yellowy/brown skin which is very common in the istan region the, kazakhs mongols, uzbeks. As you can see, the shape of the faces are very round and spherical, and they are also very euryprosopic, which is a comparison between the distance from the nose to the bottom of the chin and the distance from cheekbone to cheekbone, also very prominently found in the central Asian/Khazak region especially. Also, the eyes have a slight Mongolian fold to them ;as you can see, this part of the eye slightly folds over the eye here. Also the straight black hair with the yellowish skin complexion is also very commonly found in central asia. So yea I think im going to put it in southern Kazakhstan on the border with Uzbekistan. Okay 3332 points isnt that bad, yea I should have probably just put it in central Kazakhstan, but yea you can see it’s the istans and parts of Mongolia and china which im guessing is the Uyghur populations. Okay, onto the next one. Okay, I'm pretty sure they are aboriginal or Papua New Guinean, the lady especially. It's definitely not Africa though, let's have a closer look. The hair is a bit too straight, and the distance between the eyes are too narrow, which also leads me to believe this isn't in Africa. Also the faces are very euryprosopic, the distance between the chin and the nose is very small and the faces are also pretty long and they also kind of have an Indian look to them if you know what I mean, its how I almost immediately knew that they weren’t from Africa, but the nose is too wide for it to be one of the darker Indian types. They also have curly/straight hair, especially the lady who has pretty long straight h,air which also makes me think that they are aboriginal. So yea I think im just gonna go with aboriginal then, the centre of Australia is all just desert so ill put it in western Australia because ill be honest I don’t really know where the aborigine live in Australia all I know is the middle is uninhabitable. Okay 1440 points that’s pretty bad, even though I was correct. Yea I should have probably put it a little more north especially since I did think it could have been Papua new Guinean at first. Anyway. Next we have South East Asia most likely, Im leaning towards Myanmar Cambodia laos, its kind of the red yellowy skin that’s common there. The faces are pretty mesocephalic not too long or too short but that doesn’t really help much as most ethnicities are mesocephalic. Curly wavy hair and the Asiatic features are another reason why im leaning towards south east Asian. Yea the skin colour just makes me think it has be Laos, and although the image isnt the most clear you can kind of see that they have slightly angled eyes, you see this part here they angle a little, which is also a very south eastern Asian feature, central asia is where you get the traditional folded eyes. But yea other than that im not the most confident with this one if im being honest other than knowing the general area that its in. I think it's either Myanmar or Laos, and I think I'm just going to put it in Laos. Okay 1749 points yea I did not really see that as being Malaysia, I mean, technically im in the right area of south Southeast Asia just not where the points are unfortunately.
