What is the highest grossing Canadian film of all time? Porky's is a 1981 sex comedy film written and directed by Bob Clark about the escapades of teenagers in 1954 at the fictional Angel Beach High School in Florida. The film stars Kim Cattrall, Scott Colomby, Kaki Hunter, Nancy Parsons, Alex Karras and Susan Clark. The film influenced many writers in the teen film genre and spawned two sequels: Porky's II: The Next Day (1983) and Porky's Revenge! (1985) and an ashcan copy titled Porky's Pimpin' Pee Wee (2009). Porky's was the sixth highest-grossing film of 1982, grossing $160 million from a budget of $5 million. Some would argue that this film is the highest grossing Canadian film of all time since it is mainly a Canadian production, but others say otherwise. Resident Evil: Afterlife is a 2010 Canadian action horror film written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. It is the second film in the series that he directed, after the first film. A direct sequel to Resident Evil: Extinction, it is the fourth installment in the Resident Evil film series, which is loosely based on the video game series of the same name and the first to be shot in 3D. It stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Kim Coates, Shawn Roberts, Spencer Locke, Boris Kodjoe and Wentworth Miller. Filming took place in Toronto from September to December 2009 using the 3D Fusion Camera System. Resident Evil: Afterlife was a Canadian-German co-production, with significant filming taking place in Canada. Afterlife was the largest Canadian feature film production at the time. The German studio Constantin Film held the rights to adapt the series to live-action and co-produced Afterlife with Canadian production companies. Then they went on to produce Resident Evil, in Toronto. The film was released on September 10th 2010 to generally negative reviews. The film grossed $60 million in the United States and Canada on an estimated $60 million budget and made $240 million in other markets, surpassing the previous film's overseas total in the second week of release.
