Clive Lythgoe, piano 15 June 1967 Location: Unknown Constantin Silvestri (1913-1969) Piano Suite No. 3 (Op. 6), No. 1 (1933) 1. Bacchanale (00:58) The publisher has the Italian spelling with the missing “h”. I have also seen this piece listed without the double “c” which is in the standard spelling. Silvestri’s tape journal has the standard spelling so I’m going with that. Silvestri's first two Piano Suites were both titled "Jeux d'Enfants". When Silvestri submitted the score for his third suite to the the publisher Salabert, they included "Jeus d'Enfants" on it just like the first two. Silvestri's score is simply Piano Suite No. 3 (Op. 6). I always wondered why a Bacchanale was considered a "Children's game". Ray provides insight into his own musical coming-of-age as well as musical life during the Silvestri (1961-1969) years.
