I have spent the better part of 20 years of my life fielding the question of why Pokémon games are so easy, why they're not as hard as they used to be when we were kids and why do they want the games to be so easy for longtime fans. While I would like nothing more than to throw the obvious in their faces, I instead take the high road and pivot to my second step and gesture in the right direction towards a Pokémon game that is not only extremely dark and captivating, but especially difficult. Pokémon Colosseum is one of the most unique and challenging games in the franchise's history. While it could have very easily been just a stage for you to battle Pokémon on the big screen, the Pokémon Company instead gave us a story mode that is both intriguing in what you have to accomplish and insanely dark by their standards. Pokémon being tortured to the point of closing themselves off to good guys, a rebel hero against an entire region of thugs and monsters, several kidnappings and attempts to maim and murder all in the pursuit of determining who is the strongest in the world. If there was a game that properly adapted elements from the Pokémon Adventures Manga, it'd be this one. In this playthrough, I will be tackling the intense story mode and saving the Orre Region from the villains who seek to exploit it, rescue the damsel in distress with a unique gift and finally work to obtain every single possible Pokémon from this game (with one BIG exception). Wish me luck, because I'll need it. I genuinely don't know why someone in Cipher thought this Disco Stu looking guy was a threat...maybe the fact that he has an army of Ludicolo? IDK...
