In this procedure, the surgeon carefully located both cut ends of the canaliculus under magnification, joined them together, and placed a stent to support healing. This stent will remain in place for 4–6 weeks, allowing the canaliculus to repair completely and restore the normal tear drainage mechanism. The surgery was successful, and Mr. Mujeeb reported immediate improvement. The redness and watering reduced significantly, and he was comfortable the very next day.
