'Thriller' (1960) started off as an anthology of crime and suspense stories, but new producers introduced more supernatural/horror stories, which helped get the show a second season. It might have continued to a third but NBC was expanding Hitchcock's anthology series to an hour and apparently Hitch didn't want to share the limelight. At first Pete Rugolo was the main composer; he composed the theme and the original end credits. Jerry Goldsmith and Morton Stevens came on board as the focus on horror increased. Rugolo's jazzy end credits were dispensed with; now each episode would have end credits music by that ep's composer. (Rugolo's main title theme remained in place). 00:00 Opening titles. Music by Pete Rugolo. 00:20 Original end titles. Pete Rugolo. 01:44 Episode teaser, intro, and opening titles for 'Hay-Fork and Bill-Hook'. Music by Jerry Goldsmith and Pete Rugolo (titles). A clip from the teaser is included as it contains the first appearance of a dramatic Goldsmith cue that would be re-used in multiple Universal tv productions. 04:02 'Hay-Fork and Bill-Hook' end credits and logo.
