In the case of our #RealWorldHack, the clone business was named “3R0mpton Juncti0n” and styled to be almost imperceptible from the actual Brompton Junction logo. Then official stock was diverted to the clone store. Online, this type of cyber crime is known as phishing — it involves obtaining sensitive information by pretending to be someone else. The real Brompton store was boarded up, with demands for Bitcoin to be paid for the boards to be removed.
