This was performed at the American Accordionists' Association (AAA) Open Meeting, March 19, 2006, in Jamesburg, NJ. Ray and I gave a forty-five minute workshop presentation on the history of Valtaro Musette music. On the same program that day was the world renown accordionist Peter Soave. Ray and I had previously been involved in a very similar event for Connecticut Accordion Association (CAA) on August 28, 2005 at Spartan Restaurant in Plantsville, CT. This Connecticut event was probably the very first time that such a musical presentation on the Valtaro style was ever given. In recent years there has evolved a great interest in the Valtaro Musette style, its repertoire and history. The Valtaro Musette Orchestra had its origin in New York City in the year 1936. For more information on Valtaro Musette music write to: accordionman@verizon.net We are forever indebted to the AAA and CAA for giving us the opportunity to bring this music its members and the public. Valtaro Musettte Orchestra recorded Chiu, Chiu (JC 1074) and El Cumbanchero (JC 1106) on the Nightingale Label and were among some of their very early recordings.
