2013 年 10 月 27 日 "JCCA CLASSIC CAR FESTIVAL ENDURANCE TSUKUBA MEETING"。圧倒的な速さでポール トゥ ウィンを飾り今季 2 連勝を遂げた SANWA KAD MINI 11 号車。予選終了間際、セッティングを変えてきたのか、強敵 24 号車 ADVAN 東名サニーが 1 分 2 秒 685 でトップタイムを記録。それまでトップタイムを記録していた 11 号車 SANWA KAD MINI のドライバー吉田 広樹選手が自ら電光掲示板で 2 位に下がった事を確認した。「これが最終ラップ・・・」再び闘争心に火が付く。勿論ピットでもクルーが順位を確認している。最終コーナーを通過し最後のタイムアタック。最新のレーシングマシンの様なパドルシフトではなく、H パターンのシフト。一瞬のミスも許されない状況。素早いシフト操作と確実にトレースするレコードライン。そして予選最終ラップに記録したタイムは 1 分 2 秒 564 ・・・スチールボディのローバーミニとしては驚異の公式記録を樹立。再びポールポジションを奪取・・・ドライバーは電光掲示板のトップに #11 が表示された事を確認してピースサイン。 The Sanwa KAD Mini has made two straight wins this season, taking the first pole position both times. Yet, the qualifying round today proved to be no walk in the park. We were sure that our driver, Hiroki Yoshida, would have the fastest time. Suddenly things changed towards the end of the race when car number 24, the ADVAN Tomei Sunny, recorded its fastest lap at 1 minute 2.685 seconds. His time was enough to knock us down from first place and there was only time for one more lap. However, this only proved to stir our fighting spirit. Even in the pit, the crew was frantically double checking the scoreboard. Unlike most of its adversaries, the Sanwa Cooper has an H-pattern shifter, rather than paddle shifters. Due to this configuration, no mistakes could be permitted and the driver has to shift perfectly in order to keep up his speed. In this final lap we watched with apprehension until official standings changed as the steel body Rover Mini 564 came in at 1 minute and 2 seconds.
