Can the Condor Hi-Fi Replace My EUNA?? and Other Savory Things

Skip the first part and just listen to me noodle with knobs and switches at 7:00, but I don’t know why you’d want to, the first half is the best! So why did I get the ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ Condor Hi-Fi? I wasn’t really wowed when they announced it. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the stuff Joel and the crew do, but I was pretty set in my drive section…or so I thought. As you know, most of what I do is “in the box,” meaning I’m using Amp and cab sims instead of live amps, and have it pretty dialed in. Plus the majority of what I do is hushed tones and whispered voices, focusing on delay or reverb and the like. I sprinkle in a little overdrive to taste, usually my 1981 Inventions LVL full-range overdrive, and I always, and I mean ALWAYS have my ‪@29Pedals‬ EUNA running up front, giving everything that sparkly presence I’ve lost in my chain along the way. Believe me, the EUNA has been well worth having. It just gives me more. Not in a driving gain way, but a EQ/tone sweetener kind of way. That’s how I do most of my stuff. You’ll even hear me mention the EUNA in most videos or at least the credits. And so it has been. Me, content. Until I did a live thing with a real amp (Vox AC4HW1, the little 4w hand wired combo with a 12” ‪@CelestionUK‬ Greenback in it). I did the rehearsal and Just. Wasn’t. Happy. To be clear, I was using a small board and didn’t have the space for the EUNA, but after rehearing I left wishing I had something that could be a nice little Preamp/EQ for my small board. Something that could help switching from single coils Teles to Minihumbuckered Semi-Hollows. Wouldn’t you know it? Condor HiFi! GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) doesn’t have to hit just because something new or better is out there. It can also hit out of “necessity,” (I’m using that word loosely here.) Had I not had a poor experience in a love environment I probably would have skipped over the Condor HiFi, but I’m so glad I didn’t! Can the Condor HiFi be my EUNA on my small board? Can it be my drive? You’ll have to watch and find out, but spoiler alert: it’s awesome!
