In this episode we take another big step into advanced base engineering on Mars. Our first priority is setting up temperature regulation for the greenhouse and living space using the cold Martian night atmosphere. We collect low-temperature CO₂, condense it to liquid CO₂, and feed that into our liquid wall coolers — making stable, efficient environmental control using Mars itself. From there we melt down all our acquired advanced alloys and use them to upgrade to sensor lenses for the ore scanner. With this upgraded scanner in hand, we hit the mines to test out how much easier it is to find valuable resources. As always on Mars, progress comes with quirks — we turn out more super alloys so we can build better batteries and heavy solar panels (Storm-proof power for the long haul) … only to finish the episode by accidentally feeding every ore we gathered into the furnace at once, creating a reagent mix that we’ll have to reprocess in the next episode.
