Thank you for watching my first chicken video on my channel. There are plenty of more chicken videos to come- this just happened to be my first as sour crop was something I had never dealt with before. I was successful in treating sour crop this time, so thought I would share what I did to help by Buff Orpington make it through. *Please note I am not a trained veterinarian and this is NOT to be taken as medical advice. Treat your animals at your own risk- these are the steps that I took based on my own research that worked for me, and nothing more. Items I used: Nystatin ( this is a prescription medication that I just happened to have on hand. If you cannot get a prescription for some, I know of many who treated with Monistat that you can buy over the counter for a yeast infection) Regular yogurt (avoid flavored yogurts, you are simply feeding this for the probiotics in the yogurt) Apple Cider Vinegar (a small splash in the waterer changed daily) Black Soldier Fly Larvae- many feed stores carry this, but I found mine on Amazon as my feed stores here do not carry it most of the time. https://amzn.to/2GSRr9T I did offer her layer crumble with grit after the second day in the event she was hungry. She had already lost a lot of weight and I was trying to keep her as alert as possible. Dog Crate: This will be invaluable in your chicken raising. You will have sick or injured birds and you will want to have something on hand to use. https://amzn.to/2FwCTfn Syringe: These are similar to what I use- remember, 1cc = 1 ml if you do not have a cc syringe on hand https://amzn.to/3nTXcVh Gloves: I don't mention this in the video but anytime I treat my chickens, I always use gloves. https://www.amazon.com/MedPride-Powde...
