ART HISTORY | An ANDY WARHOL-Inspired Art Project for Children ANDY WARHOL & POP ART: Andy Warhol (1928-1987), an American visual artist; and one of the leading figures of the Pop Art Movement of the 1960s. His fascination with the American consumer objects (think Campbell's Soup Cans and Coca-Cola bottles) and famous figures (think Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and John Lennon) led him to use/appropriate these familiar images, in a creative manner, in his work. He was best known for his style in photographic silkscreen printing. Activity: Let’s explore image-transfer technique using acrylic paint, use bold colours and create grid collage like Andy Warhol! All that you need are as follows: (1) Printer-copier machine (Inkjet or laser printer) (2) Copier paper (3) Canvas panel (4) Acrylic paint (5) Water-spray bottle (6) Painter’s tape HAVE FUN CREATING FUN!!!
