We tested all four versions of the FL Honda Civic — CVT, 6MT, e:HEV, and Type R — to see how each performs in full-throttle acceleration. In addition to the 0–100 km/h run, we also measured 60–100 km/h roll acceleration for mid-range response. Which Civic feels the fastest in real-world driving? In this test, the e:HEV posted the slowest 0–100 km/h time, but in daily driving it actually feels the quickest. Its instant torque delivery gives effortless acceleration anytime, and the ride quality is excellent. As always, torque defines the feeling of speed more than peak horsepower. The reason the e:HEV was slightly slower in this test is due to system control. For the first second or two after full throttle, motor output is limited — likely to prevent wheelspin and prioritize efficiency and safety. It’s a reminder that true acceleration can’t be judged by specs alone.
