Climbing Kilimanjaro without experience – one of the most intense experiences of my life. Can we make it? 👉 Want to see when I become an IRONMAN? Click here: https://www.tyresotaekwondo.se/ https://www.boxyard.se/ A few months ago, I made a decision that would change my perspective on challenges and personal strength. I decided to climb the world's highest free-standing mountain and Africa’s highest peak – Kilimanjaro. Together with my girlfriend, we took on the Marangu Route, a classic path that used to be the most popular way to reach Uhuru Peak, Kilimanjaro’s highest point at 5,895 meters. Even though the Marangu Route is often called the "Coca-Cola Route" because of its hut accommodations, it has become less popular in recent years. Why? Because many underestimate the physical and mental challenges – only about 40% of those who attempt this route actually reach the summit. The high altitude and limited acclimatization time cause many to suffer from altitude sickness, forcing them to turn back. We decided to try reaching the summit in just 4 days, climbing about 1,000 meters of elevation per day. It was without a doubt the most demanding challenge I’ve ever faced, both physically and mentally. From the lush rainforests at the start of our journey to the freezing cold near the summit. But we didn’t do it alone. We were lucky to have amazing guides from Eliasafari, who supported us throughout the adventure. Their experience, knowledge, and kindness were crucial in helping us make it all the way to Uhuru Peak. Without them, we might not have made it. For those unfamiliar with Kilimanjaro, it’s not only the highest mountain in Africa but also the world’s highest free-standing mountain, rising majestically over Tanzania’s landscape. It’s an iconic peak that attracts thousands of adventurers each year, despite its extreme conditions. The climb is a journey through different climate zones – from tropical rainforest to alpine desert, and finally, glaciers near the summit. If you’ve ever considered taking on this challenge, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be happy to share my experiences and preparation tips. And if you want to learn more about Eliasafari, our guides for this trip, you can find their website below. This was truly a journey that taught me a lot about myself, and I hope this video inspires you to push your own limits.
