Will my favourite seaside house soon be bulldozed? (Gorleston, UK)

Join me for a stroll along Marine Parade in Gorleston, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, UK. In this video I talk about the large houses that line this distinctive road above Gorleston seafront. Amid a trend for replacing older-style properties with new architect-designed houses, I focus on the fate of my favourite house. At the time of filming this video (August 1, 2021), the planning application to demolish the property and replace it with two new dwellings has not yet been decided. Time will no doubt tell whether this lovely “Mint Mansion” will indeed be bulldozed to make way for more executive homes. Let’s hope that the seafront area of Gorleston-On-Sea is not spoilt by too many demolitions of older character properties! Recorded on Sunday, August 1, 2021.
