Occidental Tucancun is an All Inclusive Resort in Hotel Zone, Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico. How is it? It is a 4-star beachfront family resort nestled on the finest beach stretch of Cancun Hotel Zone, one of Mexico's top beaches. The resort has 339 rooms and suites and is roughly a 35-minute drive from Cancun International Airport. The place is intended to offer excellent hospitality as well as breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and the Nichupte lagoon. The hotel is slightly outdated, but it is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is always eager to meet the needs of customers. The check-in process went quickly, and we received our room at 12:30 as a member of Barcelo Level Unique. For usual check-in, the room will be ready at 3:00 PM. The resort's dining options include a buffet and three a la carte restaurants: Mexican, Seafood, and Italian. We loved and recommend the Italian restaurant because the food was delicious and the environment was pleasant, accompanied by excellent service. On the other hand, the buffet was busy at times and had a limited food section with fresh cuisine that was repetitive; more space for the buffet's food selection would be a great addition. The resort's major asset is, of course, the beach, as well as the large number of pools and swim-up bar that face it. The drinks were okay, nothing special, and equivalent to those at any four-star resort. We had no trouble finding a beach chair on the beach, however around 11:00 AM, everything was nearly occupied. Those who prefer walking on the beach can discover several kilometers of barrier-free beach to explore. Also, whether you enjoy shopping or evening strolls, the resort is located near a shopping center. In conclusion, a solid 4-star resort that is reasonably priced and located on Cancun's best stretch of beach makes it an excellent choice for a budget vacation. RESORT RATINGS: Value to Money - 5/5 Stars (Well priced.) Location - 5/5 Stars (Located on one of the most beautiful stretches of Cancun beach.) Beach 5/5 Stars (One of Mexico’s best beaches, with white sand and blue water.) Reception - 5/5 Stars (Friendly and competent, with a warm greeting. Many thanks to the workers at Premium Level Lounge.) Service – 4.5/5 Stars (Overall, good service, except for several waiters at the buffet at breakfast and lunch who were disorganized and required additional training.) Buffet – 4/5 Stars – (Crowded buffet with good food but repetitive.) Restaurants – 4.5/5 Stars (Great Italian restaurant with tasty cuisine and wonderful service. Make sure you book your restaurant reservation as soon as you arrive. You are only allowed to reserve one restaurant at a time. Sandals with classy shorts and shirts are acceptable.) Rooms – 4.5/5 Stars (Everything in room functioned as it should, but a touch dated. A nice television with a good channel selection and a working air conditioner. Thank you to our maid, who did an outstanding job cleaning and organizing our room every day.) Sleep Quality – 5/5 Stars (Perfect mattress for us.) Cleanliness – 5/5 Stars (Well-organized and clean, with each employee always contributing.) Internet- 5/5 Stars (Good speed with strong signal.)
