Welcome to class. In this deep dive, I’m breaking down one powerful design principle that completely changed how I approach my creative journals: balance. If you’ve ever flipped through your journals and thought, “Some of these pages feel magical, and others… not so much,” this video is for you. We’ll explore why that happens—and how to fix it. We’ll cover the four major forms of visual balance: Symmetry Asymmetry Radial Mosaic (Crystallographic) Each type offers something different to your pages—whether it’s stability, energy, focus, or texture. I’ll show you how to recognize them, when to use them, and why they matter in creative journaling. There’s a quiz at the end and a creative homework assignment that’ll take you out into the world for inspiration. Be sure to participate by liking, commenting, and sharing your work in our Facebook group, A Craft Room of Our Own (link below). I'm Bree from 1134 Press, where we explore creative journaling as a tool for storytelling, self-discovery, and finding beauty in the everyday.
