Canyoning in Germany - Scharnbach, Bad Reichenhall

An open but quite fun canyon located between Bad Reichenhall and Inzell. Some small slides and jumps, and a nice 28m rappel make this canyon worth its while. However, this canyon incredibly slippery. This can spoil the fun somewhat as you often choose to rappel sitting rather than standing and risk smashing your kneecaps and face into the rock. There are quite a bit of trees in the canyon as well. Parking: 47°42'54.1"N 12°46'23.1"E Ascent: From the parking area walk over the bridge and follow the main path up and southward. Keep heading south until look out over the canyon and the path curves west. Follow the path west until a small (hard to spot) path leads you into the canyon (30 min). Descent: Highest rappel 28m. Anchors are good (spring 2021). (3h) The way back: Once you reach the bridge, you can get out there and follow the path north to the parking lot. Alternatively, follow the river down further which should lead to 2 more quite nice abseils (we did not check if they had anchors).
