The latter is oh so lovely; the opener is magical, I remember the first time I heard it. The way it rapidly builds up to a crescendo of guitars and violin only to halt immediately. Mileage may vary on the second track, it may be a tad too similar to Godspeed You! Black Emperor for most people. POP and la guerre des mondes are detwiije all the way, and both of them are fantastic pieces. Credit to everyone involved, but Ellie Wilson is phenomenal. She rides the instrumentation like a surfer on a wave, swinging down into the tube and popping right back up when she needs to. Especially evident on the final track, it's fucking beautiful. I would've loved to have seen them put out a second album to hear their evolution, but it was not to be.
