Here’s a tip from RedLine Tools to prevent your chip-fan blade fatigue. This procedure works for both our RTF-10 and RTF-63 chip fans. Today’s more powerful machines can accelerate spindle rotation much quicker than older units. This rapid acceleration creates a greater impact when seating and can increase stress on the blades. Here’s the trick. We want to reduce the stress on the blades by adding a few commands before reaching full rotational speed. First, we need to command a speed of 1400 RPM. This will provide enough centrifugal force to open the blades. Next, command a slight pause of a half a second. And finally, command the operating speed between 5000 and 8000 RPM The program will look something like this N1 S1400 M03; N2 G04 P.5; N3 S7500 M03; That’s it. That little routine should help to extend the life of you chip-fan.
