Saudi Arabia approves new amendments to Labor Law, relating to Leaves, Probation and Termination

Saudi Arabia approves new amendments to Labor Law : The Saudi Cabinet has approved extensive amendments to the Saudi Labor Law. The new amendments of Saudi Labor Act include modifications to 38 articles, removal of 7 articles, and the addition of 2 new articles to the labor law. The new amendments will be effective after 180 days from the date of their publication in the official Gazette. The amendments considered the interests of all parties involved in employment contracts and included expanded sections on leaves (vacation) and contract works. Definitions for the terms "resignation" and "grievances" were added, along with an article outlining resignation procedures and modifying grievance procedures for workers. Penalties were introduced for engaging in worker recruitment activities without a license from the ministry.
