Third generation bulb and rotation crop farmer John Roozen shares how a proposal by an out-of-town developer will forever impact farming and the quality of life in Skagit County. Skagit County is at risk of becoming just another suburb. At the request of an out of town developer, the Commissioners are considering changing County regulations to allow mega housing developments (Fully Contained Communities or FCCs) within the rural lands of Skagit County. Thousands of Skagitonians have signed the petition calling upon Skagit County to prohibit the use of FCCs as growth management tool in our last remaining rural areas of Skagit County.
