🌊 Recorded at sunset in the intertidal zone at low tide during a new moon on the rugged coastline of Redwood National Park, California. A rare sunny afternoon with strong wind from the north and huge waves crashing far out, creating a continuous low roar. Heavy haze hung in the air, kicked up by the wind and crashing surf. 🇺🇸 ABOUT THIS RECORDING: The rocky, boulder-strewn shore was fully exposed by the low tide, revealing barnacles, mussels, sea anemones, and countless other sea life awaiting the incoming tide. Small flocks of shorebirds called Black Turnstones foraged on the exposed rocks, quickly moving out of the way as waves crashed against the boulders. I set up the microphone on a small patch of pebbles amongst the boulders at the base of a massive tree-topped rock towering above the shore—near the water's edge, but safely out of reach of splashing waves. This recording captures the raw, untamed beauty of the Pacific Northwest coast at its most exposed moment. Let the continuous low roar of distant waves and the calls of shorebirds carry you into deep, peaceful sleep. ⭐ WHY BLACK SCREEN? • Zero light pollution - perfect for OLED TV and bedroom environments • No video distractions - pure auditory immersion • Protects your screen from burn-in during overnight playback 🎯 PERFECT FOR: • Deep sleep and nap time • Anxiety relief and nervous system reset • ADHD focus and study sessions • Meditation and mindfulness practice • Work from home background ambiance ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 - New Moon Sunset: The intertidal zone emerges 05:00 - Continuous Low Roar: Huge waves crashing far out 12:00 - Black Turnstones: Foraging calls on exposed rocks 20:00 - Rocky Shore Ambience: Barnacles, mussels, anemones 30:00 - Wind & Haze: North wind kicks up spray 45:00 - Safe at Water's Edge: Microphone among boulders 🌿 RECORDING DETAILS: • Location: Redwood National Park, California, USA (rugged coastline) • Time: Sunset, low tide, new moon • Conditions: Rare sunny afternoon, strong north wind, heavy haze • Soundscape: Distant huge waves (continuous low roar), Black Turnstone calls, wind, surf spray • Shoreline: Boulder-strewn, exposed intertidal zone with barnacles, mussels, sea anemones • Recording Setup: Pebble patch at base of massive tree-topped rock • Duration: 1 hours of uninterrupted nature sounds • Format: Real field recording (100% authentic, no loops) • Visual: Black screen with subtle ambient branding 🎧 LISTENING TIPS: For the best experience, use headphones at low volume.
