Traumnovelle (a.k.a. "Dream Story") (Germany, 1969) high quality with English subtitles
A high quality version of "Traumnovelle"--the first adaptation of the Arthur Schnitzler novella that later became Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut" (1999). This is a more faithful adaptation that, like the source material, takes place in Germany in 1920. According to non-primary sources, the film was released in U.S. and Canada as "Dream Story"--the literal translation of "Traumnovelle." I generated this HD version using Topaz Video AI using a digital transfer of the original PAL master. The English subtitles are an option under the subtitles tab. I did not hard print the English subtitles in case any third party wants to upload subtitles in another language. The subtitles are definitely in English. Ignore the fact that they are tagged as "German."
