Can any of the cyclists on this video be charged with 'wanton and furious driving' should a serious accident occur? I'm asking because I witness near misses in London each and every day and some of them can be seen on this video. Not sure who'd disagree, but I see most pedestrians are now walking around on their phones, not paying attention, headphones on. Oblivious to what's around them. Crossing streets in the most awkward places, relying on the assumption that they will hear traffic in time. And because of the silent nature of cycling they generally do not. In 2016 more than 400 pedestrians were killed on UK roads. One of these casualties, Kim Briggs, died after a collision between herself and a teenage cyclist, Charlie Alliston. What happened to Kim Briggs is devastating. But wanting to change the law for the road users who cause 1% of fatalities and ignoring the motor vehicles which is the cause for the rest 99% does sound like a which hunt. Cyclists are often seen as a major danger to pedestrians, but do little harm compared with motor vehicles. In "urban areas", cycles were involved on average in just over 1% of pedestrian fatalities between 2011 and 2015. Should we toughen up laws for the ones who caused 1% of fatalities or the rest 99%? I own the copyright of all of the clips used on this video. They cannot be used without my permission.
