① If you've enjoyed this video, please consider to leave a like and subscribe for more! On a sweet autumn morning, I've decided to walk to the medieval market in the center of Sarlat, a french preserved medieval town, and filmed it in 4k resolution. ② Location: https://goo.gl/maps/7EsscR6B8qawk3s97 ③ Weather: sunny, partially cloudy ④ Time and date: 18.10.2021, 10:00 ⑤ Timestamps: 0:00 D704 Main Street 4:00 Northern Roundabout 12:10 Central Northern Roundabout 14:38 Deciding to walk into the back streets 20:00 Following the locals 22:00 City center 23:40 City square (Night walk ended here, too) Visit Sarlat with me at night in this video:    • 【4K60】How One Night in a French Medieval T...   ⑥ More information on the locations I've visited in this video: ▶ Sarlat-la-Canéda (from Wikipedia) Sarlat-la-Canéda, commonly known as Sarlat, is a commune in the Dordogne department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France. Sarlat and La Canéda were distinct towns until merged into one commune in 1965. The town of Sarlat is in a region known in France as the Périgord Noir (the Black Périgord, as opposed to the Green Périgord, the White Périgord, and the Purple Périgord). Sarlat is a medieval town that developed around a large Benedictine abbey of Carolingian origin. The medieval Sarlat Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Sacerdos. This abbey appears in records as early as 1081 and was one of the few in the region that was not raided by the Vikings. The name for the abbey church was Saint Sacerdos by 1318; in the 20th century, it would become a cathedral under Pope John XXIII. Because modern history has largely passed it by, Sarlat has remained preserved and one of the towns most representative of 14th-century France. Its historic centre, with 77 protected monuments, was added to France's Tentative List for future nomination as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. The excellent state of preservation owed a debt to writer, resistance fighter and politician André Malraux, who, as Minister of Culture (1960–1969), restored the town and many other sites of historic significance throughout France. The centre of the old town consists of impeccably restored stone buildings and is largely car-free. ▶ Dordogne (from Wikipedia) The Dordogne is a river in south-central and southwest France. It is 483.1 km (300.2 mi) long. The Dordogne and its watershed were designated Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO on July 11 2012. The river rises on the flanks of the Puy de Sancy at 1,885 metres (6,184 ft) above sea level in the mountains of Auvergne, from the confluence of two small torrents above the town of Le Mont-Dore: the Dore and the Dogne. It flows generally west about 500 kilometres (310 mi) through the Limousin and Périgord regions before flowing into the Gironde, its common estuary with the Garonne, at the Bec d'Ambès ("Ambès beak"), north of the city of Bordeaux. The Dordogne is one of the few rivers in the world that exhibit the phenomenon of a tidal bore, known as a mascaret. Below Argentat and around Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, the valley widens to accommodate fertile farmland, well-watered pasture and orchards. In the towns, which are major tourist attractions because of their history and architecture, the quaysides are lined with eating and drinking places. In Périgord, the valley widens further to encompass one of France's main gastronomic regions, with vineyards, poultry farms and truffle-rich woodlands. The main season for tourism in the Valley of the Dordogne is from June to September, with July and August being high season. The lifestyle and culture of the Dordogne valley attract both visitors and incomers from all over France, but also from many other countries, particularly Britain and Germany. Aside from the usual activities such as tennis and golf available in many areas of France, there are a number of water-related activities related to the Dordogne, including: Fishing, an age-old pastime for the locals and for visitors; Canoeing and kayaking, very popular (canoes & kayaks are easy to rent); Boating in a Gabare (a traditional skiff peculiar to the Dordogne); Rafting; Swimming; Motorboating; Sailing; Rowing and sculling; Water skiing. ⑦ Gear and software I use for my video walks: ▶ Sony Alpha 6100 ▶ GoPro Hero7 Black ▶ Zhiyun Crane Plus ▶ Davinci Resolve ▶ DJI Osmo Pocket 2 ⑧ Thumbnail Icons from flaticon.com ⑨ Do you want to see more walks in 4K resolution?
