High Record Of Children Below 5 years To Get Polio Vaccine This Year | YOYO Times President Ram Nath Kovind, launched the Pulse Polio Immunisation (PPI) programme for 2018,polio drops to children less than five years old at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. event was organised on the eve of the National Immunisation Day, which is observed on 28 January. More than 17 crore children of less than five years across the country will be given polio drops as part of the government’s drive to eradicate polio from the country. We need to remain vigilant and maintain the population’s immunity and [continue] sensitive surveillance till global polio eradication happens as polio virus is still circulating in other parts of the world and may reinfect us. The Minister further stated that the government is making all the possible efforts to protect children from more and more diseases. “It is important that all vaccines under the programme reach every last child of our country.
