https://reverb.com/item/30343635-gret... https://reverb.com/item/29438297-peav... On the block is a 1988 Gretsch TW-100T. This guitar is in overall great shape. Looks to have never really been played. There is evidence that it spent most, if not all of it's life hanging on a wall. Which is a shame, because this thing is a gas to play. This is physically the same size as 50's Danelectro guitars however, it features a short 21.5" scale with 18 frets. Makes it great to play on the couch or in your lap for slide work.It features one single coil pickup with one volume and a strat style tremolo. There some minor blemishes that look to have come from the hardware used to display. The guitar also comes with it's original box and original accessories which include: a cable, truss rod hex key, saddle hex key, and extra tremolo spring. If there are any questions, please ask.A little history lesson. While George Harrison was working on his Cloud 9 album, he had a few famous friends do some work on the album. He was working with Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty. They ended up using Bob Dylan's home studio to record a song for the album. They all had such a good time working together, they ended up forming a band, The Traveling Wilburys. At this time, Gretsch ownership had returned to the family and they wanted to get back to building guitars. However, they needed start up money to get back to full production. Gretsch worked with the "Wilburys" to design a new guitar to promote with the Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 album. Those chose a design from another brand that was defuct at the time, Danelectro. This guitar is modeled after the 50's Danelecto "peanut" guitars. They featured a pearl white finish with a screen printed "Pictureburst." Each guitar had it's own unique "pictureburst" so no two are the same.George Harrison used one with a Humbucker in the "Handle with Care" music video. The success of the Traveling Wilbury's and these guitars can be credited with the return of Gretsch Guitars.
