Welcome back to God’s Diary, where we encourage you weekly with a short devotional from God’s Word. 🤍 This week’s scripture comes from Isaiah 43:18–19: “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” How many of us look in the mirror and say, “I’m getting old”? Or look at something aged, like a fine wine, and think older is better? Either way, those are thoughts from our own minds — and this scripture lovingly challenges them. God says: stop focusing on the former things. When we stay stuck on what was, it can quietly lead us into discouragement or even depression. God doesn’t want us living in yesterday’s glory days or yesterday’s regrets. He wants us present, attentive, and ready for what He’s doing now. That word “behold” in Hebrew means pay attention, look closely, this matters. Like driving — you don’t stare at the roads you’ve already passed. You watch for what’s ahead. And when the light turns green… you move. 🚦 God is saying there is newness ahead — so full of opportunity that it’s like spring bursting up in the middle of a desert. 🌱 This week, as you spend time with Him, ask: ✨ God, give me Your eyes to see what’s new. ✨ What is springing up that I may have missed? ✨ Is there anything I need to resolve with You — forgiveness, surrender, or trust — so I’m not stuck at a red light? Choose the new. Move forward. Live in what God is doing now. From all of us at God’s Diary, we are so proud of you for letting go of the old and inviting Jesus to help you walk boldly into the new. 🤍
