Blackhouse Review: Tesla WYE 85 Watt Box Mod

This time at Blackhouse Vapor Company, Alec takes a look at the new single 18650, 85 watt, temperature control enabled, Polycarbonate injection mold & heat resistant ABS plastic mod from Tesla, the WYE 85. With it's durable and lightweight construction, awesome color options and reliable, hard hitting chip, this mod can be a daily use device for anyone from new vapers to seasoned vape-veterans. The chip Tesla put in this new mod seems to be a very similar chip to the WYE 85W's older brother, the WYE 200W. In fact, it may be the exact same system, just throttled down for use with a single 18650. Regardless, the menu is easy to navigate, and the mod reliably fires everytime, no misfires or misguiding battery readouts. With a pressfit battery door and pressfit 510 pin, the mod may have some issues with the PC+ABS material weakening, thus causing battery door or 510 pin looseness, but I never had this issue on the Tesla WYE 200W, so I can't necessarily say that as a matter of fact, more as a thought to be taken into consideration when comparing this mod to others. If you’re a brand new vaper, this mod is a fantastic option to consider, being as lightweight and durable as it is, without sacrificing quality or potential power, the WYE 85W would definitely be on my list as a great first mod. However, even if you are a seasoned vape-veteran, I think the WYE 85W is not a mod to be overlooked, as it accomplishes many of the same things that far more expensive 3D-printed mods accomplish, without breaking the bank.
