FISHING PORT HUGHES Jetty for landbased for YELLOW TAIL KINGFISH

We have pulled together a montage of 3 sessions fishing at Port Hughes jetty, on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, chasing Yellow Tail Kingfish. There's plenty of action as we catch and use live baits, squid and fish, to tempt these very cunning fish onto the hook. Port Hughes jetty is a great location for a range of species on Yorke Peninsula if like me you are land based fishing South Australia. I had never gone Kingfish fishing at Port Hughes jetty so it was exciting to see what we could achieve. We catch quite a few squid eging and send them out as live baits to try at catch some Kingfish on the Port Hughes Jetty. I was told by one of the locals that by the end of the season (end of summer) many of the Kingfish are hard to catch as they have seen every bait and lure under the sun by them. Also they mentioned that fishing for kingfish at Port Hughes is also difficult as even if you do hook up they usually are smart enough to break you off around the jetty pylons. In fact a diver told me that she saw a Kingfish with a lip ring (a lure)... Get a sense of the land based fishing opportunity from the Port Hughes jetty which is an easy 2 hour drive from Adelaide. The location has an amazing array of potential fish to catch. With a well stocked general store and facilities it's a great pier for any angler including bringing the kids fishing.
