Muddy Road Crisis in Bhandaripadar: Villagers Protest by Planting Paddy

The people of Bhandaripadar village, Minia Panchayat, Phulbani Block, Kandhamal district are forced to live with extreme hardship as their only road has turned into a muddy trap during the rainy season. Ambulances cannot reach the village, forcing villagers to carry pregnant women and patients on cots for 2 km before accessing medical help. Even school and Anganwadi children are unable to attend classes due to the dangerous condition of the road. Despite repeated appeals, the administration has failed to provide a permanent solution. In a symbolic protest, villagers planted paddy in the middle of the muddy road to highlight their struggle. The Sarpanch has stated that road construction has already been approved under MGNREGA and work will begin once the rains subside.
