Overall, I am a big fan of XLR microphones because you can combine them with different audio gear. Not matter if you use this microphone with expensive equipment, or a budget mic preamp / USB audio interface, in my testing both worked well. Especially beginners, who want to try podcasting, live streaming, or YouTube, may benefit from flexibility like this. Because as your audience grows you can upgrade selected parts of your gear. In contrast, with a USB mic you won’t have this kind of flexibility, so while the USB version of the P120 is easier to use, in the long run, if you ever want to make the switch to XLR gear, it may prove to be a disadvantage. Overall I give the AKG microphone a thumbs up, but I still think beginners should look at dynamic microphones as well since I found them a little easier to use. #ReviewTechTV / Affiliate Links: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. / // This video does not include product placement.
