This video is a class excerpt from the 3-day Business Intelligence with Power BI. If you query two or more tables at the same time, when the data is loaded, Power BI Desktop attempts to find and create relationships for you. The Power BI Desktop detects relationships between tables and establishes these relationships it auto detects when the tables are loaded into the data model. Why does one not want auto-detection? This video briefly talks about it. One of the main reasons of manually creating the relationships on your own is, maintaining complete control of the table relationships you need and not having an overly-cluttered model. Upon loading your tables into the model, the tables might be needing fixing, hence, it's more appropriate to fix them first before connecting them.
