This is a 30 minute video produced by the Nebraska Heath Dept/Nebraska Water Well Association/University of Nebraska, and taught by Dave Hanson of Design Water Technologies. It deals with treating a water well for iron bacteria. The video covers, 1. analysis of the problem (lab analysis and sludge analysis), 2. wire brushing the well to remove debris prior to chemical treatment (video of the well before vs after brushing), 3. placement of chemistry, 4. the importance of development in the well with chemistry, 5. monitoring our chemistry to determine when the well is clean (assures a one time treatment), 6. removal of chemistry and disposal, 7. evaluation of success (increased yield plus final video of the well), 8. cost consideration of well rehabilitation vs drilling a new well.
