WEBINAR: Using the eNanoMapper ontology
Presented by Janna Hastings (EMBL-EBI, UK) Ontologies support a diverse range of applications including data integration, metadata enrichment (with synonyms and definitions) and standardisation. The eNanoMapper project is developing an ontology driven by the principles of the OBO Foundry, most importantly of which being the re-use and integration of content from existing ontologies, which in the nano domain includes the Nanoparticle Ontology (NPO[1]). In this webinar, the structure and content of the eNanoMapper ontology was presented as well as a workflow for using the ontology in annotations and (if needed) requesting additional terms. The webinar was demonstrated using the Protégé ontology editing and visualisation tool and the BioPortal online database of biomedical ontologies.
