Full HD 60FPS: The Final Conrail Shared Assets SA31 on the Southern Secondary 6/30/22

The closing chapter of Conrail Shared Assets Operations on the Southern Secondary has come, as the weekly local SA-31 makes its way to Woodhaven Lumber in Lakewood for the final time. This was a bittersweet day for the Southern Secondary crowd as we remembered the memories and, in one case, a career path made possible by chasing the SA-31 every week. Sure, it was great to see a train once a week, but the lasting friendships and the ensuing weekly hangout are what kept us coming back again and again. It will be exciting to see what the Delaware and Raritan River Railroad offers for this rail line, but it’s sad to know that the train that I, as well as many railfans in this area, lives on only in videos, pictures, and memories.
