Any support you give us allows to make more content like this. Your excursion begins as you board your motorcoach for a scenic, narrated drive to the Jeep base camp. Upon arrival, you'll be paired in groups of four for your adventure along the mountain roads of Tongass National Forest. Your guide will lead you to scenic vistas while providing a narrated tour via two-way CB radios. The radios provide an interactive experience allowing you to ask questions, enjoy commentary from other Jeeps and share your own stories. The safari travels from sea level to the sub-alpine region of this unique coastal island. You'll learn about the area's natural history as you drive abandoned logging roads. Along the way, you'll make a stop or two to take advantage of photo opportunities and to rotate drivers so everyone has a turn at the wheel. Your next destination is the secluded mountain lake - Lake Harriet Hunt - where you'll board a large, easy-to-paddle canoe much like the Natives used to travel the coastal waterways. The large nature of these canoes make them particularly stable and fast. You'll dock your canoe next to a gazebo where you will enjoy a snack. Your safari guide will then lead a brief nature walk through an old-growth forest where you'll learn about the different features of the temperate rainforest surrounding you. This nature walk is optional, if you choose not to go, you're welcome to stay in the gazebo. After paddling back from camp, your excursion concludes with a scenic drive by motorcoach back to the pier. Special Notes: This tour may operate in reverse order.
