Avani Betta, Kolar. magnificent beauty of the Avani Betta is one of the beauitful places to visit near Bangalore. It is in the district of Mulabaagilu taluk in the Kolar district of Karnataka. Avani is known for the Sitadevi temple situated on a hill. This temple is dedicated to Sitadevi. There is a belief that the sage Valmiki, the author of the epic Ramayana, was residing here during the period of Ramayana. Sitadevi lived here in his ashram while in exile. This is the place where valmiki ashram is there and still the ashram exist. Also, Sitadevi gave birth to 2 sons-Luv and Kush while residing here. It is supposed to be Valmiki's ashram. This is the place where Luv and Kush were had there school and got trained in ARCHERY. When Lord Rama left the horse for ashvameda yaga, this is place where luv and kush captured horse and kept under ther control. There is a place called vurulu betta, which is a rock, where people roll under the rock if their have any negative energy affected with, if any negative energy affected they will struck in middle and one should get some good priest to get released. There is pond call agni tirtha and lakshmana teertha which not dry in any season, always there will be a water. There is a rock which eaten by horse due to hunger is still resides here and called as guram konda.
